The Search engine that began as “Archie” eventually became “Veronica”, then “Jughead”, and finally “Gopher”. We briefly walk through the history of this project naming the computer scientists responsible for what is arguably one of the most important inventions in our modern era. We discuss the years 1987-1992 in regards to Internet Search Engines and FTP search technology.
